WOMEN OF INFLUENCE
Key Focus Areas
Key focus is on domestic violence, sexual corruption, outdated cultural norms, and promoting equal economic opportunities for male and female entrepreneurs. Current initiatives include Kilinge cha Sheria, which empowers grassroots women entrepreneurs in Kigogo through business and legal training; Kilinge Digital, a mobile app offering training and a marketplace for entrepreneurs; and Fahamu Sheria, a legal awareness project educating Kigogo residents about their rights and legal procedures.
About Us
A non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting gender development through legal awareness and economic empowerment. They believe that gender based violence is largely driven by limited legal knowledge and poverty within communities. Through vibrant, practical, and innovative initiatives, they work to advance the rights, skills, and opportunities of women and girls, with the ultimate goal of achieving gender equality. Our approach is collaborative and partnership-driven, engaging with leading experts to create a lasting impact.
Our Story
In 2017, fifteen young women came together to form a savings group. This initiative was sparked by a painful experience—one of our friends faced sexual violence from her partner because she was financially dependent on him. That situation was a wake-up call, and we realized the importance of saving money and supporting each other during financial emergencies. In 2021, five young lawyers decided to register a non-governmental organization (NGO) to help communities access legal knowledge.

To leverage available resources to create a better social and economic environment for girls and women.
Mission
To empower and uplift the social living conditions of vulnerable women and young girls. By creating a safe environment for them to excel in economic activities while promoting social justice and reinforcing women's and girls' rights.
