Inception
Stawi Lab was born out of the lived experiences of youth-led organizations in Tanzania. Recognizing the gap between the impact these organizations were making and the resources available to them, a seed was planted to create a platform that would bridge this divide.
The Pilot Phase
In partnership with TWAA, Stawi Lab was piloted to test a new model of support—one that centered on trust, unrestricted funding, and treating youth not as beneficiaries, but as partners in development. This phase proved that when trusted with resources, youth-led organizations can drive transformative change.
Growth & Expansion
Today, Stawi Lab has grown into a vibrant knowledge hub and movement-building initiative. We have supported dozens of organizations across multiple regions, providing them with the funding, mentorship, and capacity strengthening they need to thrive and amplify their impact on girls and young women in Tanzania.
