URAFIKI GIRLS
Key Focus Areas
The area of focus is on Social Innovation and Technology. Urafiki Girls' flagship project Msichana na Teknolojia (Girls and Technology), targets in-school adolescent girls, aged 8-19 years, from fishing communities. The program equips girls with the skills, knowledge, and resources to create mobile applications, local AI programs, and social innovation projects that address community issues. It also provides a safe space for girls to collaborate in teams, with mentors guiding their learning and project development.
