About Us
A women-led nonprofit organization working on the critical intersection of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), gender equality, and climate justice. This initiative was created to address the often overlooked impacts of climate change on SRHR.
Our Story
Founded in 2022 by two friends passionate about SRHR and gender equality, HDI began in rural Morogoro, Tanzania. What started as an effort to educate adolescent girls and teen mothers evolved into a full-fledged organization integrating climate justice into its mission. Legally registered in 2024, HDI has already empowered 1,000+ young people.

Women and girls take the lead in advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and climate justice, driving transformative change at the intersection of gender equality, health, and environmental sustainability.
