Key Focus Areas

Key focus areas are climate change and environmental conservation, with a strong emphasis on youth and gender inclusion. The running programs aimed at creating informed communities through climate education, especially among youth and young girls, such as the Universities, Girls Climate Education Program, and Youth Climate Talks. Additionally, it focuses on empowering women and girls by addressing gender related issues in climate and environmental spaces. One of our current projects is Empowering Female Waste Pickers, which supports women working in waste management to improve their livelihoods and environmental impact.

About Us

A youth-led non-governmental organization established in 2019 at the University of Dodoma as a youth environmental conservation movement and officially registered in November 2021. It focuses on empowering communities through climate and environmental conservation education, with a particular emphasis on addressing gender-specific challenges. We support grassroots initiatives by vulnerable groups, especially women and young girls involved in waste collection and those affected by unclean cooking practices, to promote sustainable livelihoods and environmental stewardship.

Our Story

Founded in 2019 at the University of Dodoma as an environmental conservation movement, and officially registered in 2021, CFEC is a youth-led NGO committed to empowering communities through climate and environmental conservation education. With the main focus on addressing gender issues related to climate change and the environment by adding value to grassroots and small environmental conservation initiatives undertaken by vulnerable community groups.

To build inclusive, resilient, and sustainable communities where women, youth, and children lead in environmental conservation and climate action.
